We have developed a Motorcycle User Survey to better understand the unique needs and challenges of motorcycle riders in Ottawa. The main objectives of this survey are to:

• Gain an understanding of motorcycle riders’ experience, attitudes towards riding and safety education, and demographics. This can be used to better tailor future safety courses and public engagement campaigns.
• Better understand areas in Ottawa where motorcyclists commonly ride and locations where potential safety concerns may exist.
• Identify hotspots/problem areas for motorcycle riders to inform potential locations for in-service safety reviews.

The survey is comprised of two elements - a user experience survey and a map-based survey tool.

• User experience survey: used to better understand the challenges, needs, and experience of motorcycle riders
• Map-based survey: identify specific locations in Ottawa where road safety concerns exist
